Your desert journey begins with a morning pickup from your hotel or riad in Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the Sahara and Morocco’s film capital. From here, we drive to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou, a spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site made of traditional clay architecture. You will have time to walk through the ancient ksar, explore its narrow alleys, and enjoy panoramic views from the top. This historic village has been featured in famous movies and series such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Game of Thrones.

After lunch in a local restaurant near the kasbah, we continue our journey along the scenic Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing palm valleys, Berber villages, and old fortified homes that tell the story of ancient caravan routes. In the late afternoon, we arrive at the beautiful Dades Gorges, known for its dramatic rock formations and lush valley landscapes. Dinner and overnight stay in a charming hotel or riad in the Dades Valley.

After breakfast, we continue our drive through the Dades Valley, stopping at panoramic viewpoints to admire the winding roads and impressive rock formations. We then head to the majestic Todra Gorges, a natural canyon with towering cliffs reaching up to 300 meters high. Here, you will enjoy a relaxed walk along the river, surrounded by palm trees and sheer rock walls—one of the most impressive natural sites in southern Morocco.

In the afternoon, we travel toward the Sahara Desert, passing through desert towns and oasis landscapes until we reach Merzouga, at the edge of the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. Upon arrival, you meet your experienced camel guide and begin a peaceful camel trek across the dunes, timed to catch the magical sunset over the Sahara. After about 30 minutes, you arrive at your desert camp, where you enjoy dinner, Berber music around the campfire, and a magical night under the starry desert sky.

Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. You then return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga village, where your desert exploration continues in a comfortable 4×4 vehicle. This full day is dedicated to discovering the hidden life of the Sahara beyond the dunes.

You will visit nomadic families living in traditional tents near the Algerian border, learning about their simple lifestyle, culture, and survival in the desert. Later, we stop in Khamlia village, home to the Gnaoua people, originally from Sub-Saharan Africa. Here, you enjoy live traditional Gnaoua music and learn about their history and rhythms. The day continues with a visit to desert oases and fossil areas before returning to Merzouga. Dinner and overnight stay in a comfortable desert hotel.

After breakfast, we leave Merzouga and begin our return journey toward Ouarzazate. The drive takes us through changing desert landscapes, rocky plains, and remote villages. We pass through the town of Agdez, one of the main gateways to the lush Draa Valley, famous for its long palm groves and ancient kasbahs.

Along the way, we stop for photos and short breaks to admire the contrast between desert and oasis scenery. We then continue across the Anti-Atlas Mountains, enjoying wide open views and peaceful roads. In the late afternoon, we arrive back in Ouarzazate, where your unforgettable 4-day Sahara desert adventure comes to an end with drop-off at your hotel or airport.
